Rustic Living

11 Jan

Sometimes our every day lives get in the way of realizing that there is true beauty out there. You have soccer practice to get to by 6, and making dinner, and doing laundry and you forget to enjoy nature and the simple things in life. A friend from Vermont in her log cabin sent me this picture, and it made me stop for a few minutes a look outside my own window.  Not everyone has a log cabin that they can just look outside and see these amazing animals and scenery, but I like to think of “rustic living” or “cabin life” something that everyone can do. Rustic living might mean something different to everyone, but to me it means to relax and appreciate nature and simple living, even if only for a second in your thoughts.

After I saw this photo, our family decided to have a bon fire outside.  We all roasted marshmallows and huddled around the fire for a few hours and that was our way of “rustic living”.  What do you consider “Rustic living”?
