Hunter’s Step In To Aid In Gulf Oil Clean Up

30 Jun

Images of the BP oil spill in the Gulf Coast and sick, injured animals are shocking and heartbreaking, but outdoorsmen are stepping in to help. For years hunting and conservation have gone hand in hand and right now hunting and fishing organizations are taking action. One group in particular is Ducks Unlimited. This group of sportsmen and wetland conservationists was recently awarded a $2.5 million dollar grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. With this grant, Ducks Unlimited will work to restore wetlands near the Gulf Coast marshes in order to provide alternative habitats for birds set to migrate to the oil stricken area. The men and women of Ducks Unlimited remind us of the importance of protecting the lands and waters we so enjoy and hopefully inspire you to consider what you can do to help.

Duck’s Unlimited has always done good things for the environment. They are a very responsible organization. I applaud them.

Obama needs take more initiative in this gulf cleanup fiasco. It is insane how long it has taken so far to come up with a solution.
